Breakthrough Sunday

“THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. [John 3:18.] For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.”

– ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭(AMPC)‬‬

I. On the cross, Jesus paid our penalty!

“For Christ (the Messiah) sent me out not to baptize but [to evangelize by] preaching the glad tidings (the Gospel), and that not with verbal eloquence, lest the cross of Christ should be deprived of force and emptied of its power and rendered vain (fruitless, void of value, and of no effect). For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.”
‭‭
– 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:17-18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

  • As we surrender our life to Him, and call on his name, He makes us new!
  • As we live life in the Holy Ghost, and in His Word, obedient to His leading, we have the right to expect to receive all He has promised

II. A new law is in operation in our life: the Spirit of Life

  • We are not under the law of sin and death, but we are free
  • It’s time for breakthrough and it’s time for life!

III. Faith is the key

We believe in what He said, and He cannot lie!

“But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” ‭‭

– Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

IV. The Holy Ghost is ready to bring the power when faith is in operation!

“He did not weaken in faith when he considered the [utter] impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or [when he considered] the barrenness of Sarah’s [deadened] womb. [Gen. 17:17; 18:11.] No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God, Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised.”

-‭‭ Romans‬ ‭4:19-21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
