Living with Authority

Ephesians 1:16-23 AMPC

16/ I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.

17/ [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

18/ By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),

19/ And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

20/ Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

21/ Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

22/ And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.]

23/ Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

  • Every believer has the authority (some may not know about it, some have never learned to operate in it.)
  • It’s time for believers in Finland to learn to walk in authority!
  • Authority is delegated power. Christ is the head, Church is the body. Authority is exercised through the body.

Romans 5:17 (AMPC) says we are to “.. reign as kings in life ..”

5 steps to walking in authority

1/ Recognize the final authority of the Word of God in your life.

“Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

2/ Personal revelation that you are in Christ, far above all powers and principalities.

“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

3/ Understanding that God, the Holy Spirit, has come to live and dwell on the inside of you.

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever– The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

4/ Willingness, humility, yielding and obedience to the great commission.

“And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

5/ These are the final days, and time is running out.

“Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
