Spiritual growth

“For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food.” (Hebrews 5:12 AMPC)

This verse shows us clearly the expectation God has towards us as His children to grow and become productive. To become fruitful!

As a baby is born into this world it takes time and the right ingredients for that baby to mature and to grow. In the same way, we are to grow spiritually, to be able to take our place and carry responsibility. God’s word, mixed with faith, is our nutrition. It’s the Word of God that builds us up. It’s God’s word that brings growth.

A child is easily irritated, needs constant support, many times ignorant, unreliable, and often speaks more than they should. A mature believer, a spiritual Christian, on the other hand, is able to complete things independently, is reliable, has vision, and is unmoved by storms around them.

Oh, how we need saints that are grown up!

Are you living the heavenly life God has for you? Let this be a summer of faith and a summer of growing up spiritually.
