First step is to make God’s Word your primary source of direction.
God has outlined His will in His Word. When we go outside of the plans that He has for us, we can’t expect to see the good things He has planned for us to happen.
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.]”
1 Peter 5:7 AMPC
God’s will for you is to live a worry free life – without cares and heaviness. He cares for you, and watches over you. Your responsibility is to cast your cares on Him, and LEAVE them all with Him, and not pick them up again.
We are to cast our cares to Him… and when we do, we no longer have the burden, we don’t complain and have a pity party, because the Lord has our cares. Amen!
We cannot walk in His will, according to His plan, and in faith… if we worry and have cares.
- We have our part in life, we have to lay down the life in the flesh, and live the new creation life. Part of this is laying down our cares.
- There are many things we have to STOP doing, and go with the WORD instead.
- Stop sinning, and start doing right!
Having a revelation of the greatness of God, His power and His love is a key:
“Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!”
Ephesians 3:18-19 TPT
- Paul’s prayer for the church was, that they would personally experience both the love, and the power of God (v. 16).
- And act by faith (v. 17) and complete trust.
- We cast all the cares on Him.
Jesus instructed us not to worry, as our Heavenly Father already knows what we need (Matthew 6:32). He clothes the flowers and feeds for the birds. How much more He cares for His children?
Prayer:
God loves me, cares for me, and watches over me.
He already knows everything I need.
It is not God’s will for me to worry.
I repent from worrying and carrying cares.
Forgive me Father.
In obedience to His word today:
I am a doer of the word, and not just a hearer.
I cast all my cares on Him.
And I leave them there.
I’ll walk in obedience, and I am willing.
I’ll praise Him, and thank Him.
Amen.
Scriptures:
“Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).”
Ephesians 6:18 AMPC
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”
Philippians 4:6 AMPC
“Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? [Ps. 39:5-7.] And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [I Kings 10:4-7.] But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.”
Matthew 6:25-34 AMPC
