Mind on Track

Philippians‬ ‭4:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

What sort of thoughts have you been thinking in the past 7 days?

Just like ruts can be formed on a highway after constant use, our minds can form paths or tracks for our thoughts. During bad weather, these tracks can prove to be lethal!

So many bad things happen as a result of thought structures in the mind, that are opposite of God’s Word. This can lead to unhealthy relationships, alcohol abuse, and situations that lead to death. All based on lies that many precious people have accepted in their minds.

Repentance actually means a change of mind. We used to think one way, our hearts motives and intents, we turn around and change the way we think. We do a U-turn regarding the area we were wrong, and we change our minds, which results in a new direction.

Unless we repent, we cannot go to the right direction, or be on the right track.

Are you on the right track?

  • Your family may have a history of complaining?
  • You might have always struggled with thoughts of not making it financially?
  • It could be that you’re seeing yourself as “nothing” and of “no value”?
  • Maybe you have heard many negative reports about your future and started to believe them?
  • Do you think it’s impossible for you to make it to the other side?
  • Is your mind filled with negativity?
  • Are you unable to see yourself living right?

It’s time to think the right things! You have to change the input, in order to see change in your thinking! (Cut some things off, eliminate company that pulls you back, change your itinerary…)

It’s time to break the cycle of feeling sorry for yourself! Start a new way of think! A fresh attitude! God’s promises are for you! You may have gone through hard times, but you’re coming out strong!

Family, marriage, future, calling, being a blessing, helping people, business… are right tracks!

It’s time that you have your mind on the right track!

Your thoughts are powerful.. something is brewing in your mind. Is it for good or for bad is up to you!

Ephesians‬ ‭4:22-24‬ AMPC ‭“Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.”

Once you’ve become new (2. Cor. 5:17) – you can control your thoughts! Good tracks will produce good results, bad tracks will hold us back!

One wrong thought pattern can keep you from God’s best for you, so take your thoughts seriously!

Having a bad thought does not make you a bad person, but what you do with that thought, and how you choose to handle it.

Make a decision today to take control of your mind by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1 John‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Truth is that you are on the winning side! Greater is the One who lives in you! God loves you and He is for you! Always remember God is good (James. 1:17). Despite all the experiences, words spoken, feelings, wrong examples… God is good, and the devil is not all powerful!

Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ “For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].”

Don’t give up! See what God intended for your thoughts, and start to see the change!

Let’s enter into the new year with a fresh mental attitude! Putting God’s Word first, so you will be able to recognise where each thought comes from!

“[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
