NOW ABOUT the spiritual gifts (the special endowments of supernatural energy), brethren, I do not want you to be misinformed. (1 Corinthians 12:1 AMPC)
The Holy Spirit is on the earth today. We live in the time and the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. God wants us to personally be aware of the operations and the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to comprehend and understand them in our hearts.
Not only to be aware of the revelation, power, and inspiration available to us, but also to actively desire to be used in this area!
But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces)… (1 Corinthians 12:31 AMPC)
… earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching). (1 Corinthians 14:1 AMPC)
The Holy Spirit wants us to develop a desire, hunger, and a yearning towards personally operating in all the gifts that he has made available to us.
These gifts are not natural gifts. These gifts (1 Cor. 12:8-10) are supernatural gifts bringing the knowledge and the power of God to a moment of time, in a specific area. This happens to our profit and the building of the church!
The ministry of Jesus was supernatural, the early church was a supernatural church, and we are called to a supernatural life!
